Voluntary work

Participate in voluntary work for the Baltic Sea. One good example is the WWF Voluntary oil brigade, who are volunteers trained to assess authorities in a case of an oil spill accident.

Try to inspire your family and friends to get interested in Baltic Sea and its problems. When we can improve people’s knowledge about the poor state of the Baltic Sea, we can get more people involved. Little steams make big rivers.

Buy only phosphate-free detergents. In spite of the methods used in water purification processes, huge amount of phosphorus finds its way to the Baltic Sea every year. Phosphorus is one of the main reasons for the eutrophication of the Baltic Sea.
